Partnership with United Way of San Joaquin County Provides Operational Infrastructure for Education Non-Profit San Joaquin A+

Local Organizations Team Up to Make a Greater Impact for Young People


Tuesday, November 10th, 2020 [Stockton, CA] – Today, two local non-profits announced they are forming a partnership that will help them better serve San Joaquin County residents and their children.

“We are thrilled to be to providing support and infrastructure that will enhance the work of this important local organization,” shared Kristen Birtwhistle, CEO of the United Way of San Joaquin County. “Our goal is to provide non-profits like San Joaquin A+ with the back-office capacity that allows them to focus on their goals – which in this case is improving education for the children of our county.”

San Joaquin A+ will contract with the United Way of San Joaquin County for a full range of back-office operations, including financial administration, reporting, payroll, and insurance.  The two organizations will also collaborate on key educational initiatives across the County.

“For me, the importance of this partnership is all about impact,” noted Don Shalvey, the new CEO of San Joaquin A+. “Our goal is to help students in San Joaquin County achieve quality educational outcomes, and in doing so, create a brighter future for our region. This partnership allows us to stay focused on this mission, while helping us build an efficient and effective organization.”
