ABOUT ANDY PROKOP
Andy Prokop dedicated his life to serving others and strengthening the San Joaquin County community. A Vietnam War veteran, Andy served as executive director of the Child Abuse Prevention Council, helped establish the Mary Graham Children’s Foundation, and led United Way of San Joaquin County for more than 20 years.
His initials, “AP,” became synonymous with his outlook on life: “Always Positive.” Known for his welcoming smile, genuine kindness, and ability to encourage others to see new possibilities, Andy often reminded people, “This is the first day of the rest of our lives.”
Andy put his optimism into action by creating opportunities for young people with disabilities through his business and remaining dedicated to fellow veterans throughout his life. His legacy is one of service, humility, and a belief in the potential of others.
The Andy Prokop “Always Positive” Scholarship carries that spirit forward by helping students take their next steps toward a brighter future.
