By all accounts Pamela Lee should have been a poet, not a prisoner of addiction who shuffled in and out of rehab for most of her life. She should have been a rapper, not a rape victim. But for most of her 34 years, Lee's life has been an unsteady balance between her writing and the street, which has been her home and her lifestyle for the past 20 years.
