Resource Development Director
Retired in January of 2019 after a 36 plus year career, (12 years as Sheriff) with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office. Steve began his career with the Oxnard Police Department as a Police Explorer Scout (a division of the Boy Scouts of America) ultimately becoming a Police Officer in September of 1978.
Steve came to San Joaquin County in July of 1982 as a lateral transfer to the Sheriff’s Office. Relocating to San Joaquin County, that was a home coming for his wife Robyn who grew up in the Linden area and was excited to be returning.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology, an adult teaching credential and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy 185th session. Steve has also enjoys being a member of the Linden Lions Club, Tracy Rotary Club, Stockton Branch NAACP, and the Waterloo Athletic Club.
He currently serves as a director for the San Joaquin County Farm Bureau, Retired Public Employees of San Joaquin County, Community Partnership for Families, and a trustee for San Joaquin County Employee Retirement Association and has served with various other professional and social organizations.
Steve is looking forward to the excellent opportunity to work with United Way of San Joaquin since it has been a community mainstay in the community and will be a new horizon in service to the public.
