STOCKTON - More San Joaquin County residents, workers and employers opened up their hearts and wallets - what recession? - this past year to help United Way reach its ambitious goal of collecting $3.8 million for community charities.
United Way of San Joaquin County set its 2010 goal $200,000 higher than what it brought in during the 2009 fiscal year, and according to President and CEO Andy Prokop, preliminary reports indicate "we're real close to hitting our budget. A lot of that is based on momentum and the levels of trust and support that is ongoing from our community and business leaders." United Way's 2010 fiscal year ended June 30.
[Stockton, CA] We would like to thank everyone who participated in our Dog Day Afternoon, held on Friday, Aug. 6. What a great event! Without the support of our community, we couldn't do what we do. We are able to help many nonprofits in the Lodi area because of your support.
